Pioneering grassroots jazz organisation Jazz re:freshed is teaming up with British Underground for the 9th edition of the SXSW showcase. For over 20 years, Jazz re:freshed has been a driving force of the UK jazz scene, championing and elevating a diverse range of emerging talent.

As has become tradition for nearly a decade, this year’s SXSW showcase features the crème de la crème of the UK jazz scene. The lineup includes Mercury Prize nominee corto.alto, alongside oreglo, the first UK jazz band to make waves on TikTok and now signed to Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings. Also performing is Sofia Grant, whose work is deeply inspired by themes of climate change, and Summer Pearl, who’s at the forefront of the evolution of jazz. The soothing and meditative vibes of INSXGHT will also take the stage, alongside MADELEINE, an emerging force in the nu-jazz scene. These artists represent the exciting future of jazz, blending tradition with innovation.

"SXSW is one of the most important dates on our calendar and continues to be the most essential showcase for the bands we champion. We are always excited to showcase the cream of the UK Jazz scene in Austin and this year we are more excited than ever!"- Justin McKenzie, Creative Director & Co-Chief Executive, Jazz re:freshed.

"Since 2017 Jazz re:freshed have curated some outstanding line-ups as part of their annual showcase in Austin including early international performances from Ezra Collective, Nubya Garcia, Moses Boyd and Shabaka Hutchings. Thanks to generous support from Arts Council England and PRS Foundation we are thrilled to bring the next generation of UK jazz talent to The Velveeta Room in March." - Crispin Parry, CEO, British Underground.
